I think his physical stats cap are way too high, but time will tell. I like to dual wield flails to use up all five pills at max rank. They have similar statlines, only start with unarmed weapon skill, and replace access to strength skills with shooting.
A good tactic is to try and screen their flanks with the rest of your dudes while they are busy reducing whatever big target you have them to jely. To that end I think a big part of the aesthetic of the witch hunters was their iconic hats, and frequent use of pistols, crossbows, wardogs, and torches.
